GitLabs GDPR compliance

Hi!
Today I received an email from Gitlab.com, which had the following lines in it:

This email is to remind you to accept our new Terms of Service. If you do not all web, API and Git traffic to GitLab.com will be blocked until you accept.

So they are basically saying its a matter of sink or swim.
I’m a little disappointed to see, that a free software project handles the GDPR so poorly.

At the same time I’m glad that noyb.eu is taking action by filing complaints against forced consents.

What are your thoughts?

To be fair, you can deploy your own Gitlab and never need to touch Gitlab.com. Gitlab has a beast on their hands with Gitlab.com and I don’t see anything in their agreement that is suspicious in any way. Mostly just tracking they need to maintain uptime and prevent abuse.
